A very fine stunning rare form early Northern Californian childs basketry hat originating from the Mt Shasta or Klamath Indian tribes dating circa 1900 or earlier
The basket features a complex striking design featuring floating trapezoid patterns very finely woven( approx 20 stitches per inch)
Made from gathered native plants in the traditional style
Materials are tule cordage warps and tule wefts in a full twist overlay
