A very unusual, antique late 19th century musical instrument: A seven string tenor zither banjo in a hard wooden case 13 "S" shaped lugs to support the 9 inch dia skin tension ring The case is 37 1/4"L, 12 3/4"W, 4 5/8"D, Total 5.8 kg unpacked There are 13 plated brass "S" shaped lugs to support the 9 inch diameter plated metal ring to tension the vellum skin This banjo was made by William Ernest Temlett of 29 Charlotte Street, Blackfriars, London The banjo is 35 inches ( 89 cm) long, 10 5/8 inches (27cm) diameter and 3 inches (7.5 cm) deep The case is 37 1/4 inches long, 12 3/4 inches wide and 4 5/8 inches deep It weighs a total of 5.8 kg unpacked The packed volumetric weight of this item is very large and is over 140kgs
