A rare silver gilt thimble, made by Ernest Prud'homme, a French silversmith who lived in Paris, 98, Rue Vieille-du-Temple, and later 108, rue Amelot You find the hallmark of Prud'homme, a caduceus between an E and a P, very clearly, just above the border of this thimble, as well as the boar's head for silver made in Paris, after 1838 The thimble, 15,5 mm wide, 22 mm high, has a weight of 5 grams
