The astrolabe is almost 11in tall but is actually a 7in, Astrolabes are measured by width of Plates area, not by width or height of actual Astrolabe
This is 7 inch hanging astrolabe
For those wanting to know if this was used for navagation or time, I am told, both, but I suggest using the web for locating information
