A statue head from a Mayan Jaina island figurine, ca. 600 - 850 AD
1-7/8" (4.7cm) tall, 1-1/2" (3.8cm) wide, and 1-1/4" (3.2cm) front to back
Mounted and labeled on a polished hardwood plinth, the overall height is 4-1/2" (11.4cm)
During the nineteenth century its extensive burial grounds ere discovered, however, archaeologists first excavated the region in the 1940s
