SHAMAN RUBBING STONE, SHELL MOUND REGION, East Bay, San Francisco, California, 19th Century Find
The mound reportedly was over 60 feet high and some 350 feet in diameter
This strange stone typically was typically used by a tribal shamon to heal an injured person
Incredulously, from the perspective of 21st century eyes, a dance pavilion was actually built on top the Shell Mound (!!)
