CIRCA 1866 This instrument is built upon a 68mm diameter round brass base Rising from the base are three (3) nicely sculpted brass pillars that rise to support a 55mm diameter round stage with a 5mm central aperture Under the stage is a 30mm diameter concave mirror mounted between two (2) vertical supports found mounted to the base between the pillars There is no fine focus mechanism on this microscope and none is needed as the magnification powers used for specimen observations are not that great When the microscope is set up for observations it stands about 7.5 inches tall The exterior dimensions of the wood case are 8 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep and could be used for a variety of tasks including use as a chemical microscope and a dissecting microscope
