Measuring 18" long including the cast iron handle and with a 12 1/2" diameter cover, this copper pot/pan lid dates to the late 1800s
It has a tinned underside with a 1/4" lip, resulting in an 11 3/4" insert that sits inside the pot opening ( your pot should have an edge that measures between 11 7/8" and 12 3/8" - or darn close )
