This is a wonderful example of a 19th century, cast iron flat iron/ box iron with chimney
The iron was made by the J.J Siddons company of west Bromwich, UK, manufactures of cast iron kitchen products, established in 1846
Both the handle and knob to lock the lid are both made of wood
