Measures 11" tall and 6 3/4" wide began at the turn of the century, most doorstops were produced from the late 1920’s to the mid-1940’s, with the exception of the few manufacturers that remain in business today •National Foundry, located in Whitman, MA was founded in 1880, and originally known for cap pistols first made in bronze and, later, cast iron Other companies that produced doorstops from the early 20th century until the 1940’s include Sculpted Metal Studios, Guilford CT The name of yet another designer, Edward Cook, appears as “E. Cook” on the back of several doorstops, although very little information is available about him or the manufacturer that employed him A toothbrush along with lukewarm water and a mild soap can be used for caked-on dirt
