The violin is numbered 1194 and was made in 1899 in Northampton, Massachusetts
There is a repaired 2-inch crack near the saddle, and a repaired center seam separation as well as two tiny wing cracks
Without exception, violins made by Andrew Hyde all have a remarkable rich and solid tone, with depth, wide dynamics, and elegant harmonics
